Hi. We just played three songs at Wimbledon before the Olympics tennis started. A very friendly crowd watched us from “Henman Hill” performing “Always on my mind”, “What have I done to deserve this?” and “Winner” with special backdrop videos. I think “Winner” will turn up on TV in the UK and around the world but no one has told us when! Neil x
This was in yesterday’s Evening Standard. So no longer a secret! We’re performing three songs. N x
Today’s Daily Telegraph newspaper reviewed new songs with an Olympics relevance and gave “Winner” gold medal prospects.

Andrew Dawson has done such a gorgeous “Happy/Sad” mix of “Winner”! Can’t stop playing it. (It’ll be on iTunes etc on August 6th.) N x
We received a very interesting and thought-provoking email today regarding the new video for “Winner”:
“Thank You to the Boys for their Winner Video which so positively showed the Transgender Community who has been much maligned and battle worn for so long. Many in the Trans community have been buoyed and even moved to tears by the theme of the video. The transgender community has faced great sorrow and pain in our daily lives just trying to be accepted and ‘fit in” because we look different, many are forced to “Go Stealth” and disappear and hope no one ever finds out because being uncovered can mean the loss of family, friends, a job, a home, and even one’s life. Please pass along if you can, this anonymous ‘Thank You.’ to all involved in the production.”
Hi again. Here’s a photo of me standing in front of St Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow taken by Chris. It’s almost 20 years since we were filmed walking near here in our costumes for the “Go West” video… Less cars around in those days! Neil x

Just come across a lyrical orchestral version of “West End girls” featuring Brian Molko of Placebo on vocals. It’s from an album called “Orchestral Variations V.01” by The Separate. Links below. Neil
We’ve just got back from a great couple of days in Moscow. The Afisha Picnic was a lovely event — excellent audience and fine weather. I had a problem at the beginning of our show when my in-ear monitors were just playing distortion but it was fixed pretty quickly, thankfully! It was nice to chat to the guys from Franz Ferdinand backstage as well. You can see some pictures from the show at the blog link below. CпаÑибо МоÑква! Neil x
At the opening of the Tanks tonight at Tate Modern in London. More information at the link. Neil x
Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday messages and cards this week. They were much appreciated! Love, Neil x
