Just in case you’re wondering how The Sun’s story (see May 21st message) about us working on the new James Bond theme with Amy Winehouse came about… We’ve been informed that a local “journalist” claimed to have had a private interview with me backstage at the Brighton Festival last weekend and wrote up this fake story complete with invented “quotes” from me. The Sun didn’t check it with our PR, bought the story and ran it.… Neil
Last night, I attended the opening celebrations of the beautifully restored and enlarged Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle which now has three screens showing the best films from around the world, as well as bars, cafes and an editing suite to encourage local film makers. In so many cities around the UK it’s difficult to get to see the most interesting films, not just the blockbuster product, but the Tyneside Cinema is now a world-class destination for film and a great night out. Every city should have one! Neil x

Apparently Nicole Kidman is going to be playing our old friend the late, great Dusty Springfield in a film about her life. I hope her story is told with the truth and sensitivity that Ian Curtis’s and Joy Division’s was in “Control”.
