On the way to our studio today, I walked down The Mall in London and by chance saw the royal procession for the state visit of the King of Saudi Arabia. He wasn’t getting many cheers from the public.
We’re in Dublin today.
Unintentional humour from Iberia.…(It’s been very difficult travelling to and from Valencia.)
Great show in Dublin last night. We love Irish audiences. Afterwards, ended up in Lillies Bordello (that’s a club not an actual bordello…) with our team.Neil x
In Barcelona, waiting for the train to Valencia.
Saturday afternoon.
Chris Heath and I stopped by the Arsenal Stadium this afternoon to look at the flowers left for Dainton.
The final salute — a card handed out at Dainton’s funeral. On the reverse it reads: “THE BEAR HAS LEFT THE GROUND AND IS TRAVELLING TO THE NEXT AWAY MATCH ALONE AND HE WILL SEE YOU ALL ON THE OTHER SIDE WHOOOOOAAR!”
Autumn in England.

On the train to Barcelona, travelling by the sea. x
Very touching to see a banner reading “DAINTON, YOU ARE ALWAYS ON OUR MINDS” at the front of the Zaragoza audience last night. Thanks x
Last night I went to the London premiere of “Control”, Anton Corbijn’s film about Joy Division and in particular their singer, Ian Curtis. Nice to see all of New Order there and fascinating to watch actors portraying them on the screen. The actor playing Bernard Sumner gives a very accurate impersonation of him but the whole cast is excellent and the Manchester mix of humour and serious intent spot on. It’s a beautiful film.
We’re in Zaragoza, about to soundcheck. x
