An amateur production of the Pet Shop Boys/Jonathan Harvey musical, “Closer to Heaven”, will be performed by the City Theatre Company in Brighton, UK, from September 22nd-26th. Tickets go on sale today. Full details from the link below. A percentage of ticket money goes to support the Sussex Beacon, a clinical care centre, providing specialist care and support for those living with HIV.
A production of “Closer to Heaven” by the Uptown Players is also planned for Dallas, Texas, next year.

Well that’s the summer leg of the tour over! Thanks to everyone who came along from St Petersburg to Tel Aviv. We start again in Montreal on August 29. There are some links below to some reviews of last night’s concert.

Great show in Paris last night at the Olympia. Fantastic audience. Shame we get no support from the record company there…
Stopped off in Manchester yesterday to see Rufus Wainwright’s opera, “Prima Donna”, at the Palace Theatre. As you can see, Rufus came dressed as an opera composer (Verdi, possibly).
I enjoyed the opera, particularly the performance of Janis Kelly.

UPDATE: Neil and Chris point out that only the lyrics for “Nothing has been proved” were written before Pet Shop Boys existed. The music was completely new. And Neil would never say “Christ Almighty!”
