We’ve just spent an interesting afternoon in this former “model socialist city” in Eastern Germany being shown round by our friend and collaborator, Sven Helbig, who grew up there. Well worth a visit! More information at the links below. Neil x

The lyric video for Brandon Flowers’ new single “I Can Change” is now online. It features a brief cameo appearance from Neil Tennant and there’s a link to it below. Brandon’s new album, “The Desired Effect”, is currently number one in the mid-week charts.
The Irish rock band Fight Like Apes recently performed a cover of “Go West”, changing the chorus lyric to “Vote Yes” to make it relevant to the Irish referendum on gay marriage. Good version and good message! Neil x (Link below)
The Union Theatre production of “Closer to Heaven” is still getting reviewed. Check out a new one at the link below.
Why wouldn’t you want to dress up as David Walliams and Matt Lucas dressed up as the Pet Shop Boys on a bank holiday Monday? Love this photo! Neil x
A new track from Brandon Flowers soon-to-be-released album, The Desired Effect, can now be heard online (link below). The song, “I can change”, includes a line spoken by Neil Tennant which was, as previously reported, recorded on his iPhone. The track was premiered yesterday on BBC Radio 2 and samples Bronski Beat’s classic song, “Smalltown Boy”.
Tonight we went to see “Closer To Heaven” again at the Union Theatre and enjoyed it so much. Shame more people can’t get to see it. Jonathan Harvey who wrote the script was there as well. Lovely to hang out with him and to chat to the cast members. This pic is of Jonathan with Connor Brabyn (“Mile End Lee”). Our lovely ex-manager, Jill Carrington, came with us — she was there when we first started working on this show in 1996! Neil x
