We’ve just got back from a great couple of days in Moscow. The Afisha Picnic was a lovely event — excellent audience and fine weather. I had a problem at the beginning of our show when my in-ear monitors were just playing distortion but it was fixed pretty quickly, thankfully! Pet Shop Boys today release Bryce Miller’s mix of “It’s a sin”, which previously featured in the trailer for the Netflix show, “Monster: The Ed Gein Story”. The song is now available to stream and a visualiser video is available to watch on YouTube.
We are so sad to hear that Dave Ball, the keyboard genius of Soft Cell, has died. He was an electronic pop pioneer and with Marc Almond made a unique catalogue of songs, completely original in sound and content. Our love and condolences go to Marc and all those close to Dave. Yesterday we went to Wilton’s Music Hall for the dress rehearsal and then the first preview of “Musik”, the Jonathan Harvey/PSB show starring the brilliant Frances Barber as Billie Trix.
