An amateur production of the Pet Shop Boys/Jonathan Harvey musical, “Closer to Heaven”, will be performed by the City Theatre Company in Brighton, UK, from September 22nd-26th. A percentage of ticket money goes to support the Sussex Beacon, a clinical care centre, providing specialist care and support for those living with HIV.
A production of “Closer to Heaven” by the Uptown Players is also planned for Dallas, Texas, next year.

We are so sad to hear that Dave Ball, the keyboard genius of Soft Cell, has died. He was an electronic pop pioneer and with Marc Almond made a unique catalogue of songs, completely original in sound and content. Our love and condolences go to Marc and all those close to Dave. Yesterday we went to Wilton’s Music Hall for the dress rehearsal and then the first preview of “Musik”, the Jonathan Harvey/PSB show starring the brilliant Frances Barber as Billie Trix.
