Last night, I attended the opening celebrations of the beautifully restored and enlarged Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle which now has three screens showing the best films from around the world, as well as bars, cafes and an editing suite to encourage local film makers. In so many cities around the UK it’s difficult to get to see the most interesting films, not just the blockbuster product, but the Tyneside Cinema is now a world-class destination for film and a great night out. Pet Shop Boys’ “Se a vida é (That’s the way life is)” was released as a single on this day 30 years ago. A video for the song was filmed at the Wet ‘n’ Wild theme park in Orlando, Florida, directed by photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber who also made the videos for “Being boring” and “I get along”.

A rainy day in Santander! Apparently the weather is going to improve later for our concert. 🤞🤞
Thanks to the wonderful “Dreamworld” and “Obskur” audiences in Berlin who came out to dance with Pet Shop Boys over the last 3 days. A special thanks to Princess Julia and The Hidden Cameras for performing at the sold-out shows at Huxleys Neue Welt. After a short break, the “Dreamworld” summer tour continues in Spain and Norway before finishing in Denmark.
