A hugely acclaimed Chinese film, “Mountains May Depart”, by Jia Zhangke, will be shown at the New York Film Festival this month before general release next year. The film’s opening scene is set in 1999 to the accompaniment of Pet Shop Boys’ “Go West”, “a song whose promise of blue skies captures the dreams of affluence that seized so many Chinese youth at the turn of the century.” Links to more information and to the official trailer below.
Pet Shop Boys today release on Blu-ray/2CD their concert film “Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live at the Royal Arena Copenhagen”, which is now available to buy exclusively through the official store.
