We have just learned that, unfortunately, it has been announced that the Festival On The Wall near Newcastle in July has been cancelled by the organisers. Pet Shop Boys were scheduled to perform at this new festival on August 4th. According to the organisers’ Facebook page, “significant operational challenges have made it impossible to continue”. Pet Shop Boys’ classic “Suburbia” was released on this day 40 years ago. The music video was directed by Eric Watson and filmed in the suburbs of San Bernardino and Duarte in Los Angeles and in Kingston-upon-Thames in Greater London.
