Blur and Pet Shop Boys are the first headliners to be announced for next year’s Berlin Festival. Both groups will play on Friday, September 6th, 2013, at the Templehof airport site where the festival is held. Tickets go on sale from tomorrow until December 21st at www.eventim.de. Thereafter they’ll be available from www.berlinfestival.de/tickets. Pet Shop Boys will be bringing their new “Electric” production to Berlin for this performance.

To mark the centenary of Sergei Eisenstein’s legendary silent film, “Battleship Potemkin”, a restored version made by Deutsche Kinemathek, featuring the celebrated score by Tennant and Lowe of Pet Shop Boys, will be released for the first time in cinemas and on a two-disc Blu-ray and CD package by the BFI.
