In the 18th GLAAD Media Awards in the USA, Pet Shop Boys have been nominated for “Oustanding Music Artist” for their album, Fundamental. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to “promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation”. The GLAAD Media Awards “recognize and honor mainstream media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives”. Pet Shop Boys today release the expanded edition of their acclaimed new album, “Nonetheless”.
A new studio recording of the “All the young dudes” / “West End girls” medley, performed by PSB and the Manchester Camerata, and produced by Stuart Price with strings arranged by Anne Dudley, is available to stream now at the link below. The medley was performed at the MTV EMAs last night. It’s accompanied by a different “orchestral” mix by Stuart Price.
