Potemkin in Spain

The local newspaper in Segovia, Spain, estimated that 15,000 people attended the first performance of “Battleship Potemkin” in Spain last night in front of the Palacio de la Granja. Pet Shop Boys were accompanied by the Dresdner Sinfoniker, conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer. This was the eighth perfomance of the work, the first being in London in September, 2004. Since then there have been performances in Frankfurt, Bonn, Berlin, Hamburg, Newcastle and Dresden. Click on the links for full reports (in Spanish).
